Karen Mones - Program Director (Inner Loop and Cypress)
Karen Mones started Adventure Boot Camp in Houston to reach more people with her passion for fitness. She wanted to bring a fitness program to the Houston area that would be fun and give women real results.
The combination of Karen's professional background, fitness and formal education, sports conditioning, and practical experience will be sure to make your camp experience exciting and life changing.
Karen has a background in Yoga, Pilates, Nutrition, Group Fitness, Martial Arts, and Postural Training and incorporates all of these into boot camp as well. As a side note, Karen played Women's Pro Football for the Houston Energy for 6 years. Don't be surprised to find football drills incorporated into camp!

Stacy - Program Director (Sugar Land and West Houston)
Stacy's been a personal trainer for athlete's and other individuals for 8 years. She has also coached basketball and softball at St. John's High School and has her own business, A+ Athletics. She is a Physical Education Major and has had great success in sports. She was first a scholarship basketball player at Virginia Commonwealth University, then played semi-pro basketball for the Houston Jaguars. Since then, she played 7 years for the Houston Energy Women's Pro Football Team receiving the honor of League MVP 2 years in a row. Her high energy will be sure to inspire you. She is motivating as well as a jokester. You'll be sure to have fun when she's around!

Linda - Katy at LaCenterra Cinco Ranch
Linda is an independent personal trainer and is very enthusiastic about training and helping women improve their health and wellness. She has a very diverse background in sports and incorporates some of her athletic training into her camps.
Linda has coached and participated in a variety of sports and has a son that she is actively involved with.
Linda is teaching camp in Katy.

Jeff - Cypress at Cy Falls High School
Jeff is has been a personal trainer for 20 years. He competed in drug-free Power Lifting and Body Building competitions and has won and/or placed in several. He is dedicated to helping people reach their goals and enjoy a healthy lifestyle and has worked with everyone from Housewives to Professional Athletes. Jeff is fun and enthusiastic but also very professional. Ladies - you won't feel intimidated at all around him. He is very encouraging and has received great reviews from the boot campers.
Jeff teaches the morning class and co-ed evening boot camp in the evenings in Cypress.

Van - Med Center at Hermann Park (mornings)
Van has been a personal trainer for 4 years. He is a certified Tae Kwon Do instructor as a second level black belt and competed at a national level for 5 years. He became interested in triathlons in 2003 and completed his 1st Iron Man race in 2004 (his proudest moment to date). Since then he began competing at the elite level until 2007. Van's new interest is cross country mountain bike racing and his goal for 2008 is to finish the 24 hour endurance race. He'll be sure to motivate you and help you increase your strength and endurance while burning tons of calories with his fun and inventive routines.

Kim - Westchase at Terry Hershey Park
Kim teaches at the West Houston location at Terry Hershey Park. She has a background in sports conditioning and personal training. Kim uses this background in many of her boot camp drills which gives it a fun and playful environment while working out.

Bethany Smithers - Weekend Boot Camp Classes
Bethany teaches the weekend classes at both Sugar Land and in the Heights. She has a degree from the University of WI-Oshkosh and has been a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine since 2007. With a background in nationally competitive athletics ranging from water-ski show tournaments to her current interest in the sport of triathlon, Bethany's approach to fitness is that everything works, but nothing works forever. She became a trainer to share that passion for a varied, well-balanced fitness lifestyle with others. Her enthusiasm is sure to inspire & challenge you to break beyond existing paradigms and lead you toward your ideal physique & fitness level.
Kat Elliott - Heights Spotts Park (8:30am and 6:30pm classes)
Kat, not being a native texan , is not only new to the country but new to the profession. After breifly studying Sports Science and Biomechanics at the University of Leeds , Kat knew she wanted a career in fitness but was not sure exactly which avenue to take. So, after moving here 2 years ago from Scotland, she decided to enter the personal training world. After a doing a course in Spain with the European Institute of Fitness, she returned to Houston to start her life as a personal trainer .
Kat spent her youth as a National gymnast but after being refused to train because of her height, she soon found herself on the volleyball and basketball courts throughout highschool and university where her height became the advantage. She also has experience in ballet and Thai boxing so be prepared to throw some punches with the grace of a ballerina.
Although she's new to the industry don't be fooled by her demeanour and rookie status, her workouts are tough. She is eager to increase the awareness of fitness as a lifestyle change rather than just an activity so be prepared to work hard but have fun.
June Hruska - Sugar Land (various times)
June is an independent certified personal trainer dedicated to sharing her passion for fitness and helping others in their journey to health and wellness. She is a long time Sugar Land, Texas fitness enthusiast whose background encompasses running, hatha and bikram yoga, Tai Chi, and involvement with the boot camp environment for the past five years. Elements from each of her experiences are incorporated in her workouts, which are challenging, varied and will inspire you to "Empower your life, live well, and look fabulous!"
Dr. John Spencer Ellis - Support Staff
Each week, over one million people around the world enjoy a fitness program created by John Spencer Ellis. His fitness programs are implemented in the top resorts, spas and health clubs. John is the President of NESTA (National Exercise & Sports Trainers Association) and the Spencer Institute for Life Coaching. These two professional associations have 45,000 members in 30 countries. John is on the Advisory Boards of the National Health, Wellness and Prevention Congress, Exercise TV, Conference for Healthy Living, Irvine Valley College, Get America Fit Foundation, and is a Fellow of the National Board of Fitness Examiners. He is the author of "How Badly Do You Want It? - Your Ultimate Guide to Optimal Fitness," and a contributor to "Power of Champions." He created Adventure Boot Camp, the largest fitness boot camp program in the world. His signature series of outdoor fitness equipment is used in communities worldwide. John has been featured or quoted in every major fitness publication, and held the post of Fitness Editor for OC Flair magazine. John has been featured on NBC, CBS, PBS, SPIKE, ESPN & Bravo. He serves as an on-air expert for Life & Leisure Television and Health Journal Television with General Norman Schwarzkopf. He is the producer and host of The OC Body on The Healthy Living Channel. John is a Nautilus sponsored athlete and stars in the workout DVDs Playground Boot Camp & Kung-Fu Fitness. John created the fitness program used by the U.S. Secret Service and he consults the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championships).
John has been continuing his professional education since 1987, and holds bachelors degrees in business and health science, an MBA, and a doctorate in education. He is currently completing a second doctorate in naturopathy. He has fifteen certifications including massage therapy, plyometrics, self-defense, fitness kick boxing, fitness boxing, water fitness, exercise rehabilitation, golf conditioning, Pilates, personal training, clinical hypnotherapy, sports hypnosis, PACE circuit training and yoga. He holds a 2nd degree black belt in kung-fu, has completed the Ironman triathlon, and finished 5th at the U.S. National Biathlon Championships. His medical training includes a license in radiological technology, a medical assisting certification, and training in McKenzie rehabilitation. John was nominated for the California Community College Distinguished Alumni Award.
